Flowers For Algernon, by Daniel Keyes, is a fictional somewhat science-fiction story about Charlie, a mentally retarted man who undergoes surgery to increase his intellegence. The book is actually his journal, and includes his thoughts as he changes.

The Bad: It was somewhat depressing, but was still very entertaining. There wasn't much action involved.

The Good: It was an easy read, and caught my interest. I liked the change in writting style and correctness as Charlie's intelligence changed.

Overall, the book was an good read. I would recommend it for those looking for a generic fiction story.
