The Count of Monte Cristo, by Alexandre Dumas is well written story about Edmond Dantes's wrongful imprisonment, escape, and revenge on his enemies. I didn't realize I was reading an abridged version until I finished.

The story is very good, and more realistic than many current stories you see in movies and books. He escapes from imprisonment, and gets revenge on those who wronged him, but not everything turns out perfect in the end. The story drew me in, and kept me interested till the end. In fact, I could find no flaws in the book.

You should definitely read this book. I will sometime try to read the unabridged version.
